An important Government goal in Sierra Leone is to make the population feel they are coming closer to the decision-making process, in an effort to rectify the over-centralization of government which was a contributory factor to the civil war.
Potentially, Sierra Leone could be much more agriculturally productive, due to its bountiful natural resources and plentiful water supply. Lack of expertise, poor infrastructure and low technological input are all inhibiting expansion in this sector, though.
