The Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone plans a Human Rights Week from 2-11 December

The Human Rights Commission of Sierra Leone (HRCSL), in collaboration with the UN Country Team, international partners, civil society and others plans Human Rights Week in Sierra Leone, commenicing on 2 December 2009, in the context of commemorating the International Day of Human Rights on 10 December.

The Human Rights Commission envisages a programme with community sensitization, launching of the War Victims Fund on 5 December, drama competition at Elementary Schools on 8 December, the official Human Rights Day celebrations on 10 December in Freetown and in all districts of Sierra Leone including cultural events, a symposium on the 11 December and a friendly football match between the HRCSL and the UN tentatively scheduled for the 12 December.
