On the occasion of today’s closing of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, the Secretary-General wishes to congratulate the judges, principals and staff, both Sierra Leonean and international, on the important achievements that have been accomplished over the course of the 11 years of its existence.

13 Oct 2011 - The United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Sierra Leone (UNIPSIL) refers to reports in some local newspapers and a number of radio interviews in which Mr. Mohamed Bangura, Interim Leader of the newly established United Democratic Movement (UDM) alleged to have had meeting at the United Nations Secretariat in New York and in which he made a number of assertions against the Executive Representative of the Secretary General, Mr. Michael von der Schulenburg.
