Closure of UNIPSIL

The UN Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Sierra Leone (UNIPSIL) completed its Security Council mandate on 31 March 2014 and transferred its responsibilities to the UN Country Team consisting of 19 agencies, funds and programmes, based on the UN Development Assistance Framework, known as UNDAF.

27 March 2014 - The UN Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Sierra Leone (UNIPSIL) completes its Security Council mandate on 31 March 2014 and transfers its responsibility to the UN Country Team, which consists of 19 agencies, funds and programmes, based on the UN Development Assistance Framework, known as UNDAF.

26 March 2014 – With more than 15 years of United Nations peace operations in Sierra Leone set to wrap up at the end of this month, the top UN official there said today that while the West African nation has gained solid footing on the path to recovery, it will still require sustained international attention and support to address the lingering challenges from a brutal civil war in the 1990s.
